To build a dynamic and committed volunteer team that will support the successful execution of the 10th Plateau Man of the Year Awards (PMYA 2025) — ensuring a world-class experience for awardees, guests, partners, and the media.
Volunteer Units & Responsibilities
- Marketing & Social Media Unit
Core Objective: Create excitement and drive engagement before, during, and after the event.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage official PMYA social media pages (daily posts, stories, and updates).
- Engage online communities, respond to comments, and share live event highlights.
- Support the marketing team in executing digital campaigns and publicity drives.
- Collaborate with the Creative Unit for visual content and promotions.
Team Lead: Social Media Coordinator
- Content & Communications Unit
Core Objective: Shape PMYA’s public voice through compelling, consistent communication.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft press releases, news updates, and event scripts.
Support MCs, presenters, and program anchors with prepared notes.
Manage internal communication among volunteer teams.
Provide post-event stories and write-ups for media circulation and publications.
Team Lead: Communications Officer
- Partnerships Support Unit
Core Objective: Strengthen relationships with sponsors, partners, and dignitaries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in correspondence with partners and sponsors.
- Support in preparing partnership materials (letters, proposals, reports).
- Serve as liaison officers for assigned partner organizations.
- Coordinate hospitality and information for sponsors and special guests.
Team Lead: Partnership Liaison Lead
- Awardees & VIP Relations Unit
Core Objective: Provide seamless coordination and support for all award recipients and VIP guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage communication with awardees and confirm attendance details.
- Coordinate arrivals, accommodation, and seating for special guests.
- Prepare briefing packs and manage backstage coordination.
- Ensure VIP treatment and smooth transitions during presentations.
Team Lead: VIP Relations Coordinator
- Logistics & Event Crew
Core Objective: Ensure smooth on-ground coordination and flawless event execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise venue setup, branding, and signage placement.
- Manage registration desks, seating arrangements, and stage logistics.
- Coordinate ushers, technical team, and security units.
- Handle event materials (souvenirs, badges, gift packs, delegate kits).
Team Lead: Event Operations Supervisor
- Stage & Program Coordination Unit
Core Objective: Manage stage flow, timing, and coordination throughout the awards ceremony.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure proper sequencing of performances, award presentations, and speeches.
- Coordinate with MCs, ushers, and the production team for smooth transitions.
- Monitor timing, lighting, and sound coordination during the event.
- Maintain order and flow of activities on and off stage.
Team Lead: Program Coordinator / Stage Manager
- Magazine & Editorial Support Unit
Core Objective: Support the production and launch of the Eminence Magazine – PMYA Special Edition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in interviews, transcription, and data gathering for awardee features.
- Support writing, editing, and proofreading of magazine content.
- Coordinate logistics for the magazine launch segment.
- Work with photographers and designers to deliver quality editorial output.
Team Lead: Editorial Coordinator
- Research & Documentation Unit
Core Objective: Capture insights, moments, and impact stories from the event.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take detailed notes and compile highlights from event sessions.
- Conduct short interviews with awardees and guests.
- Document proceedings for the official PMYA 2025 Post-Event Report.
- Provide support to the magazine and media teams with quotes and references.
Team Lead: Research & Documentation Officer
- Media & Creative Unit
Core Objective: Visually tell the PMYA story and enhance media visibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle photography, videography, and quick editing for live uploads.
- Design event visuals, banners, and graphics for print and digital use.
- Produce highlight reels, interviews, and short recap videos.
- Support press and media interviews during the event.
Team Lead: Creative Director
- Protocol & Hospitality Unit
Core Objective: Manage VIP protocol, ushering, and delegate hospitality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate guest reception, ushering, and refreshment services.
- Ensure VIP seating and protocol arrangements are properly managed.
- Work closely with the security and logistics teams for crowd control.
- Maintain a courteous and welcoming atmosphere throughout the event.
Team Lead: Protocol & Hospitality Lead
- Publicity & Media Relations Unit
Core Objective:
Drive widespread awareness and media visibility across Plateau State and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate press conferences, interviews, and media coverage.
- Manage relationships with TV, radio, and newspaper outlets.
- Oversee placement of event jingles, press releases, and community awareness.
- Mobilize publicity campaigns in local communities and tertiary institutions.
- Collaborate with Marketing & Creative Units for unified messaging.
Team Lead: Publicity & Media Relations Officer
Volunteer Code of Conduct
- Uphold professionalism, teamwork, and integrity in all engagements.
- Be punctual, courteous, and proactive at all times.
- Represent PMYA’s values of Excellence, Impact, and Service.
- Follow instructions from team leads and support fellow volunteers when needed.
Volunteer Onboarding & Training
All volunteers will undergo a brief orientation and training session prior to the event. This will cover:
- Event objectives and structure.
- Communication and conduct standards.
- Specific team roles and expectations.
